The judgement of God was certain and imminent because of the sinfulness of God’s people and their refusal to repent. But at the same time, God promised to save and transform His sinful people into a nation that would bless the world. At the centre of this hope lay the promise of the coming Messiah Who would redeem and reign over His people in Jerusalem. And all of this rested in the unfailing love and faithfulness of God.
